Obituary

George Ann Fisher, 72, of Brownsburg, died on January 4, 2024 at Brownsburg Meadows Auguste's
Cottage from complications of Alzheimer's disease. She had been a resident in the memory care unit for
two years.

Born November 9, 1951 to George and Mary Ann Gunning, George Ann grew up on the west side of
Indianapolis and graduated from Northwest High School in 1970. She married James Fisher in 1986 at
Holy Trinity Catholic Church, and they had two daughters, Amanda (Capps) and Abigail. The family
moved from the westside of Indianapolis to Brownsburg when the children completed elementary
school at St. Malachy, continuing at Brownsburg High School.

Professionally, George Ann worked as a seamstress, bookkeeper, and computer programmer. She spent
her free time volunteering with groups and activities that her children were involved in, especially St.
Malachy Sunday School and VBS, Girl Scouts, Brownsburg Cheer Committee, Brownsburg Aquatic Club,
SMS Cheerleading, St. Malachy School field trips and clubs, and BHS Theatre and Choir. She was an avid
crafter and seamstress, frequently putting her talents to use with these groups as well. George Ann also
loved telling stories about her time racing quarter midgets with her family as a child. In later years she
enjoyed spending as much time with her grandchildren as possible.

George Ann was predeceased by her parents and is survived by her husband, daughters, brother George
Gunning, son-in-law Justin Capps and grandchildren Cole, Allison, Braden, Dillon, Emma, Logan, and
Gavin.

The family will entomb George Ann in a private service. All friends of George Ann and her family should
remember her in the good times they enjoyed together and hold those memories dear. We are
particularly grateful to the nurses, aids, and other staff that cared for her at Brownsburg Meadows when
being at home was no longer a safe and comprehensive option. We also appreciate your condolences,
thoughts, and prayers for us. Our family is content with knowing that George Ann is in a better place. If
any friends are so inclined, in lieu of flowers or any other gestures of comfort or remembrance; the
family requests donations be made to St. Malachy Catholic School, 7410 North County Road 1000 E,
Brownsburg, IN 46112, in George Ann's remembrance.
