George G.
Gordon
January 1, 1942 – December 18, 2022
George G. Gordon
80, of Indianapolis, passed away December 18, 2022. He was born January 1, 1942 in Indianapolis to the late Lester Gordon and Helen Waldron Gordon.
George graduated from Arsenal Technical High School in 1960 and went on to graduate from Purdue University in 1965, majoring in Electrical Engineering. He began his career at Naval Avionics and Ransburg Corporation. He retired from Eli Lilly after 28 years of service. George enjoyed sailing, playing tennis, playing cards, and building and fixing anything and everything. George and his wife, Marsha, have been active volunteers at the Indianapolis Ronald McDonald House for nearly 40 year and he also served on the Board of Directors.
George lived his final years with Parkinson's disease and his final months with Dementia. His life of 80 years impacted many, especially his family. He was best known as a role model of what a Dad, Grandpa, and Husband should be. You could always find him working on something around the house, teaching his grandkids to do the right thing, or helping others fix things. Although a man of few words, his wit and humor will be missed.
George leaves behind his wife and best friend, Marsha Minnich Gordon. He is also survived by his two children, David (Amy Smith) Gordon and Jennifer (Greg) Lane. Grandkids: Garrett & Claire Burkle, Savannah (Jonathan) & Lexi Lane, Ellis & Christiana Smith. Brothers: Lester (Marcia) Gordon and Bill Gordon, and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 10am to 12 noon Thursday December 22 at Matthews Mortuary, Brownsburg, with funeral services at 12 noon. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Indiana at
