Obituary

Harold (Ted) L. Hodge

95, Born and raised in Brownsburg, passed away March 11, 2023.  He had retired from General Motors Allison as a carpenter in 1980.  Harold had served in the US Army from 1950-52 and was stationed in Germany.  He was a member of Pittsboro Baptist Church where he served as a deacon.  He was an avid fisherman and always caught a fish when no one else did.  He was also a member of the woodcarvers association where he enjoyed woodcarving, making a variety of carvings for family and friends. Among other passions in Ted's life,  was a love for mowing  his grass.  After retirement, Ted and Barb did missionary work in Arizona and Florida until retuning to Brownsburg in 1991.  On April 28, 2018 Ted was honored to participate in the Indy Honor Flight where he had the time of his life.  His parents Joseph and Naomi Hodge, and son Michael Hodge  (surviving wife Susan) preceded him in death.  Survivors include his wife Barbara Hodge; children Linda McKinney (husband Rick), Daniel Hodge (wife Joni) and Shari Krueger (husband John); 9 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.  Visitation will be from 12 noon to 2 pm Friday March 17 at Matthews Mortuary, Brownsburg, with funeral services at 2 pm.  Burial with military honors will follow in Brownsburg Cemetery.
