Irene Monica Fritz (Wands), age 99, passed away peacefully of natural causes in Leesburg, Florida.

Born on August 24, 1926 in Indianapolis, Indiana, Irene was the beloved daughter of the late William Wands Sr. and the late Stella Singer.

She was married to the late William Earnest Fritz who preceded her in death in 2017. Together they raised two sons: Robert (Carm) Fritz and Michael (Carol) Fritz.

Irene was a dedicated professional, working for many years as a bookkeeper and office manager for commercial electrical contractors. She later transitioned to a meaningful role as a social and admissions director at a health care facility where her compassion and organizational skills made a lasting impact.

Outside of work, Irene enjoyed a full and active life. She loved playing cards, boating, traveling, and spending time with friends and family. Her warm spirit and sense of humor made her a joy to be around.

She was a proud grandmother to Alyssa, Alaina, Cori, Dana and the late Aaron who passed away in 2025. Irene leaves behind a legacy of love, strength and resilience. She is survived by her sons, her grandchildren and many family and friends who will cherish her memory.

Visitation will be held on Friday, October 10 at Lincoln Memory Gardens Cemetery mausoleum chapel in Whitestown, Indiana from 10:00 - 11:00am.
