Ivan "Van" J. Birrer II, age 66, Indianapolis, passed away Dec. 11, 2016. He was a pastor at the Eagle Creek Community Church. He was a member of the Brownsburg Kiwanis Club and had been active in the Brownsburg Swim Club. Survivors include his wife Penny Birrer; children Kara Birrer, Deborah Birrer, Stephen Birrer, Lori Guy, David Birrer, Molly Birrer, and Timothy Birrer; father Ivan J. Birrer; two grandchildren. Visitation will be from 5-8pm Wed. Dec. 14 at the Eagle Creek Community Church, 5943 Lafayette Rd., Indianapolis, IN 46254, with memorial services there at 10am Thurs. Dec. 15. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Brownsburg Kiwanis Club Scholarship Fund or the Van Birrer Memorial Fund for missions in care of the church.
