Rev. Jack R. Showers
age 80, Avon, passed away July 2, 2012. He served in the US Air Force from 1950-1974 retiring with the rank of Major. He was also a Southern Baptist minister from 1973-1995. He was a member of the Avon Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his loving wife Betty Showers after 53 years of marriage and will always be loved and missed by his family. He is survived by daughters Deborah Wissen (Stephen), Genie Williams (Danny), and Jackie Thompson (Dean); brother Norman Showers; 9 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be 7pm Thurs. July 5 at Matthews Mortuary, Brownsburg, with visitation from 4-7pm. Burial with military honors will be 10am Fri. July 6 at the Marion (IN) National Cemetery.
