James E. Backus, 50, Indianapolis, passed away Sept. 16, 2014. He was the meat department manager for Lynhurst Marsh Supermarket. Survivors include his mother Linda Backus; brother Dennis Backus; sister Cynthia Kurowski; 1 niece and 5 nephews. Funeral services will be 1pm Sat. Sept. 20 at Matthews Mortuary, Brownsburg, with visitation there from 11am to 1pm. Burial will be in Clermont Cemetery.
