James Mac Bowling, went home to the Lord on March 12, 2022. He was born May 4, 1943 in New Ross, Indiana to the late Pleas and Maudie (Proffitt) Bowling. He married his sweetheart, Suzanne (Straber) Bowling, in 1963. He owned American Jeweler for many years. James was a Freemason, and Kentucky Colonel. Other than his love for his family, James also enjoyed golfing, fishing, hunting, his dogs, and most importantly IU. He is survived by his wife, Suzanne Bowling; daughter, Amy (Mark) Clifton; grandchildren, Tyler Joseph, Marcus Joseph, and Allison (Rodolfo) Ortega; 2 great grandchildren, Kingston Ortega and Luciella Ortega, and special nephew, Ernest (Angie) Hacker. He was preceded in death by parents Pleas and Maudie Bowling, and siblings: Burt Bowling, Charles "Finley " Bowling, Buckner Bowling, Harold Bowling, Junior Bowling, Myrtle Dulin, Opal Jackson, and Mabel Hacker. He will be greatly missed.
