James Frederick Lewis
passed away September 29th, 2013 at the age of 49. Jim was born on March 13, 1964 and grew up in Pocono Lake, PA where he attended Stroudsburg High School. He later moved to Lake Havasu City, AZ where he opened his own restaurant and pursued his passion for cooking. In 2000, Jim moved to Indianapolis, IN to live closer to family and joined his brothers in business as the Retail Sales Manager at Buztronics. His appetite for life and sense of humor were well known by coworkers and clients alike; Jim never met a stranger, always putting people at ease with his engaging personality. In his spare time, Jim attended service at St. Malachy Catholic Church in Brownsburg and used his extensive chef skills to prepare lavish feasts for friends and family. Jim also frequently served the less fortunate, cooking breakfast for the patrons of Beggars of the Poor mission in downtown Indianapolis. Jim was a beacon of light and love; he brought joy and laughter to many lives and will be deeply missed. Jim is preceded in death by his mother Evelyn Unger Lewis, and survived by his father Edward N. Lewis; step-mother Edith Lewis; his four siblings, Kathleen (Charles) Burzynski of Williamsport, PA; Edward "Buz" (Beth) Lewis, of Indianapolis, IN; Daniel (Kristen) Lewis of Indianapolis, IN and Jani Lewis (Mark Mogavero) of Geneseo, NY, as well as nieces Jennifer, Beth Ann, Katie, Elyse, Sarah and Caitlin, nephew Zachary, and great-nephew AJ. A celebration of life Funeral Mass will be held at St. Malachy Catholic Church, 9833 E County Road 750 N, Brownsburg, IN, on Saturday, October 5th at 1 pm. with visitation before from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers please make donations to Beggars of the Poor c/o St. Malachy Catholic Church.
