Obituary

James Lindsey, on Saturday Aug. 26, 2017 the Lindsey family lost one of its greatest men. After years of battling cancer, James passed away at the age of 53. James was the kind of man who was always so proud of his family. He was a man with the courage and strength to hold everyone else up, even if it was a strain on him. There are so many people that James loved and cared about, that it's nearly impossible to list everyone whose lives he impacted. The following are just a few of the loved ones he leaves behind: He leaves behind his loving wife, Lisa. He stood by her side for 37 years and he considered every moment of that life-long commitment to be a blessing. He loved her deeply in a way that she will feel until the end of time. He leaves behind his sons, Jared and Lucas. He taught them what it meant to be men; what it meant to sacrifice in the name of family. He taught his sons the value of hard work and honor. He took greatest pride in his children and who they had become. He leaves behind his Mother, Doris Lindsey; brothers John Michael Lindsey (Terri) and Kevin Lindsey (Lisa); and sister Dora Wampler (Mark). He was preceded in death by his father, John D. Lindsey. This family made him the man that he was. As the youngest child, he had incredible guides through the beginning of his journey through life. James leaves behind a second family through marriage in Kenneth and Jean Blad and daughters, Deborah Jackson-Carter (Rick) and Theresa Blad Scott (AJ). He honestly saw them as brothers, sisters, and parents, with all of the "Discussing and Debating" that may entail. He leaves behind the dogs, Sophie and Emery. They brought him so much joy, even though they never quite learned the best manners. He leaves behind several nieces and nephews; Sarah Frier (Adam), Lauren Podraza (Steve), Holly Kirkwood (Chris) Lindsey Zollman (Brady), and Abbey Lindsey; Adam Rumage, Grant Carter, Joshua Scott, Jordan Scott, Joseph Scott, Jonathan Scott, Joel Scott, Ben Lindsey, Brandon Lindsey, and Brandon Ivey. He cared about each of them more than they could know. He leaves behind his business, J&L Design and Construction, in the capable hands of his son, Jared. He leaves behind a world that is a smaller place without him in it; a world with far less love, courage, kindness, and faith; a world where he will forever be missed. Visitation will take place from 4-7pm Thursday Aug. 31 at Matthews Mortuary, Brownsburg. Funeral services will take place at 10am on Friday Sept. 1. Burial at Sparks Cemetery will follow. In place of flowers, we ask that contributions be made to the Sarcoma Foundation of America at www.curesarcoma.org
