James L. Ray 64, Brownsburg, passed away April 21, 2011. He had been a computer operator for State Auto Insurance Co. for 44 years, retiring in 2009. He was a volunteer fireman for Brownsburg Fire Dept. for 15 years, retiring as a Captain and owned and operated the Hendricks Co. Ambulance Service from 1985 to 1993. He was a US Air Force veteran, member of the Brownsburg Jaycees, and an avid fisherman. Survivors include his wife Ellen Ray; sons Tony (Susan) Ray and Jeff (Liesel) Ray; grandchildren Jimmy, Anna, and Alex; brothers Wayne Ray and Steve Ray; sisters Linda Adwell and Brenda Pullen. Funeral services will be 10am Tues. April 26 at Matthews Mortuary, Brownsburg, with visitation there from 4-8pm Mon. April 25. Burial will be at Brownsburg Cemetery.
