January 14, 1936 – February 28, 2023
James C. Snapp II, 87, of Brownsburg, passed away on Tuesday, February 28, 2023. Born on January 14, 1936 in Indianapolis to James C. and Elizabeth Rose Snapp, Jim was the eldest of 5 children.
After graduating from Avon High School, Jim served in the United States Army. He spent many years as a timekeeper for General Motors, before retiring in 1991. Jim was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church in Brownsburg, the Speedway Masonic Lodge, and the Indianapolis Scottish Rite.
Jim was a kind-hearted and caring man. He loved to laugh and spend time with his family. Jim enjoyed playing cards, gardening, antiquing and was also quite a craftsman. He often shared his carvings, crafts and artwork with friends and family. He was an "honorary member" of the Psi Beta Psi Sorority, contributing countless crafts that he and Kahla created together for their annual bazaar.
Jim was preceded in death by his first wife, Phyllis Baker Snapp, brother, John Snapp and sister, Judy Rich.
Jim is survived by his loving wife, Kahla; children Jim (Betsy) Snapp, Shannon (Julius Carroll) Clark, Shawn (Charlie Jones) Gilligan, Elisa Stinger, Angela (Randy) Hill; brother Jeffrey (Deb) Snapp, sister Jinger (Larry) Dykes; grandchildren Amie (Orion), Philip, Emily (Derek), Jay (Brooke), Isabelle, Megan (Cameron), Aiden, and Mason, and great grandchildren Peyton, Izzie, Dylan, Sydney, Jude, Quinn, and Virginia. Jim is also survived by beloved cousins, nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Calvary United Methodist Memorial Fund. Private services will be held on Sunday, March 5, 2023.
