James Edward Stone, Sr. (Stoney), age 76 of Brownsburg, passed away peacefully at home October 6, 2017, surrounded by his loving wife and family. He was born in East St. Louis, IL August 13, 1941 to Dudley B. and Beatrice Stone. He was a Vietnam War Veteran serving eight years with the US Army Corps of Engineers, a past employee of Pauly Jail and most recently as facilities engineer for the Westfield School District. He belonged to the American Legion and VFW Post #331, and was a member of St. Malachy Church in Brownsburg. He is survived by his wife, Mary Ann (Capriotti) Stone; and four children, Michael (Heidi) Stone, Patrick (Suzanne) Stone, James Jr. (Christine) Stone and Jennifer (Chad) McCauley and 11 grandchildren, Cody, K.C., Madeline, Emma, Claire, Henry, Cameron, Leena, Clayton, Haley and Ireland. Also surviving: brother Clifford Stone, sister Alice Jestus and several nieces and nephews. A funeral mass will be held Friday, November 10, at 1:00PM in St. Malachy Church in Brownsburg. Visitation will be from 11:00AM to 1:00pm at the church. In lieu of flowers, and in memory of James Edward Stone, contributions may be made to the ALS Association-Indiana Chapter.
