Obituary

James Lee Yaryan

87, of Brownsburg, passed away peacefully on May 31st, 2026. James was born in Indianapolis, Indiana to his parents Lee Kenneth and Dorothy Margaret (Clements) Yaryan on August 29th, 1938. He proudly served in the United States Navy from 1957 to 1961, where he spent time stationed on the USS Lexington. Later, James worked many different positions with AT&T prior to his retirement. James then went on to drive cars for Bill Estes, a job he enjoyed for years to come. He was also a dedicated Brownsburg Reserve Police Officer, as well as a member of Faith Baptist Church in Danville.

He was preceded in death by his parents; children James “Jimmy” Yaryan and Debbie Seago; sister Cynthia Yaryan. James is survived by his loving wife Jewel Yaryan; sister Beth White; brothers John “Tony” Cook and Daniel Cook; grandchildren Daniel Yaryan, Olivia Yaryan, Brett Seago, and Alani Seago; and many cherished step-children and step-grandchildren.

A visitation will be held on Friday, June 5th from 11 am to 1 pm at Matthews Mortuary, Brownsburg, with funeral services to follow at 1pm. James will then be laid to rest with military honors at West Ridge Park Cemetery, Indianapolis.
