Obituary

Jane H. Tweedle passed away peacefully on February 17, 2025. Jane was born August 26, 1930, in Hammond, IN to Harry and Theresa Black. She graduated from Hammond High School and then put herself through college, graduating from Indiana University (Bloomington) with a math major in 1952. Six months after graduating, she married Dr. Lester E. Tweedle from Hammond, IN. They were married for 68 years.

Jane conducted a weekly Bible Study at the Golden Manor Nursing Home (now Brownsburg Health Care) for 35 years. She was also highly involved in her church, teaching the High School Sunday school class along with her husband for 10 years and hosting many Bible studies in their home.

After raising her three children, Jane went back to school and earned a master's degree in both Marriage and Family Therapy from Butler University and Addiction Counseling from Indiana University (Indianapolis). She worked as a counselor for 21 years, making a positive impact on many individuals and families.

Jane was preceded in death by her late husband Dr. Lester E. Tweedle. Jane is survived by her three children, Pamala Ritz, Tim Tweedle (Betsy) and Julie Fischer (Jerry), eight grandchildren, Thatcher Ritz (Lauren), Liesl Peterson (Davis), Alex Ritz, Marta Ritz, Eric Tweedle (Taylor), Ryan Tweedle (Ashley), Jake Fischer (Taylor), Jana Gramling (Joe) and nine great-grandchildren, Wesley Peterson, Luke Tweedle, Cameron Tweedle, Charlie Tweedle, Elizabeth Jane Tweedle, Cooper Fischer, Eleanor Jane Fischer, Josie Jane Gramling, and Jade Gramling.

Jane was always ready to offer a hug to those around her. Her faith in Jesus Christ was very strong and was always demonstrated by her sweet and caring personality. All who came into contact with Jane were blessed by her. She loved her neighbors, but she especially loved her husband and family. Jane will be greatly missed, and some may say that this earth has lost a true angel.
