Janet Kay Giles

79, Brownsburg, passed away on January 27, 2024.

Janet was born in Indianapolis and raised in Boone County, Indiana. She met Jack - her knight in shining armor - on a blind date while attending Perry Central where she was a cheerleader.  After graduating she could not wait to marry Jack and become a mom, her most cherished achievement in life.

She was a dedicated wife, an exemplary mother who embodied the best of qualities: unconditional love and steadfast faith.  She adored her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren and cherished every moment with them. She was big hearted, had a vibrant personality, and always made people around her laugh.  She accepted everyone with an open heart, open arms, and her perfect smile which would light up a room.

Janet was a member of Connection Pointe Christian Church and Kappa Delta Phi Sorority.  She was an executive administrative assistant for Cotter & Company and an aide for Brownsburg Community School Corporation.

Her favorite pass times were spending time with her family, cooking, laughing, and telling (or to hear) a good joke, playing Euchre, bowling in her younger years, in addition to playing her games on her iPhone, watching her recorded shows which included Judge Judy, and Forensic Files.

Janet was preceded in death by her parents Albert and Olive; brothers Jerry and Steve; sister-in-law Rita.  Survivors include her husband Jon "Jack" Giles; daughter Karen; sons Kevin (Rick), Jon Jr. "Doug" (Holly); sister-in-law Kay; grandchildren Lyndsey (Nick), Justin (Shelbi), Ashlin, Logan; great-grandchildren Bennett, Griffin, Hayden, Avery, and Khloe.

We will remember her smile, her love, her energy, her love for life, family, and friends.  A Celebration of Life will be held at a future date.
