Janet E (Ingles) Katterheinrich, 80, of South Bend, Indiana , passed away Thursday, August 24,2023. She was born in Michigan on January 3, 1943, to the late Robert and Alma (Gabbert) Ingles. Janet graduated from James Whitcomb Riley High School in 1961 and Ball State University in 1965. She later received her master's degree in education from Indiana University. She taught in the South Bend Community Schools for 21 years.

Janet is survived by her two children, John (Traci) Katterheinrich and Lori (Patrick) Geisler; grandchildren Kayli (Nate) Schaecher, Brody and Ally Katterheinrich, and Devyn Geisler; sister Beverly Beczkiewicz; nephew Greg VanFleet; and cousin Charles Ingles.

Janet was an avid reader and movie buff. She loved crossword puzzles, computer games, adult coloring books, and making crafts. Her favorite thing to do at family gatherings was playing board games and cards, while snacking on her famous Chex mix. She was known for her competitive spirit!

A Memorial service will be held at Avon United Methodist Church at a later date.
