Janet K. Jones Reynolds 63, passed away peacefully on March 4, 2015 after battling breast cancer. She was born September 12, 1951 in Indianapolis. A graduate of Scecina Memorial High School and Indiana University, she earned a BS in Medical Technology and a MS in Allied Health Education. Janet was a clinical microbiologist and manager/director of IU and IU Health Microbiology and Molecular Pathology Laboratories for over 41 years, and co-authored numerous scientific publications. She is survived by her brother, David Jones (Careasia Parker) of Park City, Utah, a niece, Trisha Courtney, Nevada, a nephew, Max Herndon, California and a cousin, Juanita Nichols, Indianapolis and was preceded in death by her father, Herschel Jones, her mother, Gertrude Otto Jones, a sister, Darlene Lawson, and brother, Larry Jones. A lifelong champion for animals, Janet supported a variety of wildlife and animal protection organizations. Janet will also be remembered by friends for her avid (and contagious) recycling. Her other interests included reading, music and traveling. A celebration of Janet's life will be held Tuesday, March 10, 2015 from 4:00-7:00 p.m. in Eaton Hall, 61 N. Green St., Brownsburg, IN.
