Jay L. Smoot
88, Brownsburg, passed away April 23, 2019. He had been a heavy equipment operator for 36 years for Smith Construction Co. (formerly Jackson Construction). Survivors include his wife Ruby Smoot; children Deborah O'Brien, Ronald Smoot and Donald Smoot; sister Stella Grant; 7 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Visitation will be from 11am to 1pm Friday April 26 at Matthews Mortuary, Brownsburg, with funeral services there at 1pm. Entombment will follow at Washington Park East Cemetery.
