Jayne Ellen Pumphrey, a devoted wife, mother, and animal lover, passed away on March 27, 2025, in Indianapolis, IN at the age of 69. Leaving behind a legacy of compassion and kindness, for her family, friends, and furry ones that enriched her life. She was born in Peru, Indiana, on July 11, 1955 to Woodrow & Juanita Cattin.

Jayne met the love of her life, Steven Pumphrey and together they shared nearly 50 years of marriage. They were fortunate to have 6 wonderful children, 9 beautiful grandchildren and more fur babies than they could count.

Jayne will be remembered for her deep unwavering love of animals (dogs, cats, rabbits, guinea pigs, fish), which was evident in her daily life. She turned their home into a haven for rescued animals and always took the time to show each of them how much they were loved. She was a mother to many and operated a home day care for decades. Throughout the years she helped raise many kids in the community along with all of her grandchildren where she made a lasting impact on all of their lives.

Jayne cherished family vacations on the beach, weekend get-a-ways, and hosting family dinners for her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed time with her girls where she got her hair and nails done (precious pink). This allowed her to feel refreshed, rejuvenated and relaxed while spending some quality time with her loved ones. Jayne is lovingly remembered by her husband, Steven; children, Jeremy (Kristen), Jessica (Matthew), Maggie, Tyler, Cori (Jaymes), and Noah (Ella); grandchildren, Brandon, Xander, Luke, Chase, Cayden, Logan, Carli, Chloe, and Naomi; brother, Leslie (Grace).

The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to The Human Society at www.indyhumane.org or ASPCA at www.aspca.org in Jayne's memory. Funeral Services will be held at Matthews Mortuary, 690 E. 56th Street, Brownsburg, IN on April 5, 2025 at 12 noon, with memorial visitation from 10am-Noon. Friends and Family are welcome to attend.
