Jean E. Steele

68, Brownsburg, passed away July 11, 2023. Jean was a long-time member of Cornerstone Christian Church where she taught Sunday School for over 40 years. She was also active in Women's Bible Study Fellowship (BSF). A graduate of Purdue University, she had been the Senior Staff Designer for Farm Bureau Insurance Company for 40 years, retiring in 2019. She was known to her grandchildren as UmMa and she fulfilled that role with patience, love, and kindness. She was preceded in death by her parents Charles Michael and Mary Ann Staley and sister Patty Michael. Jean was survived by her husband Dale Steele; sons Darren (Sasse) Steele, Evan (Kate) Steele, and Collin (Chelsea) Steele; sisters Linda Baird and Chris Sheldon; grandchildren Eli, Maddie, Colby, Reese, Sadie, and Charlotte. Visitation will be from 4-7pm Thursday, July 13 at Cornerstone Christian Church, with funeral service there at 10am Friday, July 14. A burial will follow in Bethesda Cemetery.
