Jeanne Claudette Steuerwald, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, died Thursday, July 18, 2024 at the age of 84. She passed peacefully with family by her side.

Jeanne was born October 1, 1939 in Brazil, Indiana to Winifred and Forrest Allen. She graduated from Van Buren High School in Brazil, Indiana in 1957 and married Forrest Steuerwald in 1960. She was a devoted wife and mother. After raising her children, she worked at the Hendricks County Bank and Trust in Brownsburg, Indiana for several years.

Jeanne enjoyed making arts and crafts, socializing with friends, and participating in two homemaker clubs. She was extremely close to family members and particularly enjoyed being involved with her grandchildren and great grandchildren in recent years.

Jeanne is survived by her husband of 63 years (Forrest), five children (Brian, Neal, Darrin, Kevin, and Lisa), eight grandchildren (Jeff, Dean, Jake, Jarret, Emily, Taylor, David, and Nina), ten great grandchildren (Micailyn, Jade, Evie, Coda, Reina, Vada, Lola, Giuliana, Eleanor, and Cooper), and three brothers (Mark, John, and Larry).

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made to The Brady Foundation. This foundation was established for Jeanne's grandson, Brady Steuerwald, whose death preceded her passing.

A Celebration of Life event will be held at The American Legion Hall in Pittsboro, Indiana (100 Legion Lane, Pittsboro, IN 46167) beginning at 2:00 pm on Saturday, August 3, 2024. Catered food will be available at 3:00 pm, and Pastor William Nickrand will provide Words of Celebration at 5:00 pm.
