Jerry L. Nichols, 70, Indianapolis, passed away Oct. 28, 2015. He had been a skilled tradesman at General Motors Allison. He was a US Navy Veteran, a member of the Masonic Lodge, VFW and American Legion. He had also served as a reserve deputy sheriff in Fayette County. Survivors include his wife Sharon Nichols; children Darrell (Kimberly) Hart, Victoria (Gerald) Thompson, Nicole Nichols Smith and Debra Nichols Thompson; brothers John (Darlene) Byrd and Jeff Byrd; sisters Vicki Johnson, Jessie Scroggins and Penny Nichols; 8 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Visitation will be from 4-7pm Fri. Oct. 30 at Matthews Mortuary, Brownsburg, with funeral services there at 10am Sat. Oct. 31. Burial will be in Lizton K of P Cemetery.
