Obituary

JoAnn Catherine (Faitz) Tri was born on November 26 1933 in Trenton Illinois to Herbert and Elsie(Abel) Faitz. Jo Ann passed away peacefully at home on September 10, 2021 with her family by her side. JoAnn married Delbert Tri on March 8. 1951 in Trenton, Illinois where they lived until 1958. They then moved to Brownsburg, Indiana where JoAnn remained living the rest of her life. Delbert and JoAnn had 9 children - Sheila Tucker, Charlene Eubanks (Bob), Darrell (Renee), Dwayne, Sharen Arney (Tim), Kevin (Leslie), Lynn Shipp (Rob), and Valerie Wilson (David).JoAnn dedicated her life to her family. Although JoAnn had many children of her own, the Tri household was home to so many more. Every child that knew her called her "Mom." Jo Ann never missed an opportunity to cook for anyone that walked through the door, no matter what time of day. The Tri fish fry was always a big event that no one wanted to miss. JoAnn would fry fish for hours but never ate a bite because she didn't like fish. JoAnn's happiest moments were having her children together. Nothing meant more to JoAnn than her family. Although she did enjoy her Bingo and Casino penny slots. JoAnn would be having a rough day but if bingo or casino were mentioned, she would find the energy to make the trip and stay until wee hours of the morning. She really was not much of a gambler but played the penny slots all night long. She enjoyed every minute. JoAnn was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary. In earlier years, Delbert and JoAnn spent much time meeting with their friends at the Legion and dance the night away. JoAnn continued her support of the American Legion throughout her remaining years. JoAnn was an active member of St. Malachy Church and devoutly attended every week until her health did not allow. Even then, she would watch church services on television. JoAnn is preceded in death by her husband Delbert, sons Darrell and Dale. JoAnn is survived by her brother Dwight Faitz, 7 of her 9 children, 16 grandchildren, and 2 great grandchildren. Visitation will be from 4-7pm Monday September 13th at Matthews Mortuary, Brownsburg, with funeral mass at St. Malachy Catholic Church, Brownsburg at 12 Noon Tuesday September 14.
