John T. Garrard age 87, Brownsburg, passed away May 18, 2012. He was a US Army WWII veteran. He had been a teacher, principal, head coach for baseball, football, track, and basketball for Perrysville School, principal and superintendent for Avon Community Schools and assistant superintendent and teacher for Brownsburg Community Schools. After retiring from education he worked at the Brownsburg Golf Course and West Chase Golf Course. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and Connection Pointe Christian Church. He was preceded in death by his wife Barbara Garrard. Survivors include sons Doug (Sandy) Garrard, Kent (Barb) Garrard, and Stan (Diane) Garrard; sister Ruth Holsapple; 9 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. Visitation will be from 4-8pm Mon. May 21 at Matthews Mortuary, Brownsburg, with funeral services 10am Tues. May 22 at Connection Pointe Christian Church. Burial will be at 2pm Tues. at Oakland Cemetery, Montezuma, IN.
