John W. McNear

90, of Brownsburg, passed away on October 28th, 2026. John was born in Clermont, IN to his parents Omer and Juanita Ruth (Appleget) McNear on January 5th, 1936. Following his high school education, John went on to proudly serve in the United States Navy from 1955 to 1959, during which he was stationed on the USNS NY and the Brooklyn Receiving Station. After his military service, John moved on to work as a store manager for Guarantee Auto for over 20 dedicated years. In recent times, John and his family were attending members of Faith Baptist Church in Danville.

He was preceded in death by his parents and son William McNear. John is survived by his beloved wife Carol McNear; daughter Melissa (Kasey) Moreland; sister Debbie Jaynes; brothers Steve and Randy McNear; grandson Harrison Moreland.

Visitation will be held from 11 am to 1 pm on Tuesday, November 3rd at Matthews Mortuary, Brownsburg, with funeral services to follow at 1 pm. John will then be laid to rest with military honors in Lincoln Memory Gardens, Whitestown.
