John Michael
"Mike" Wilson
October 26, 1947 – May 27, 2022
John Michael "Mike" Wilson
74, Coatesville, passed away on May 27, 2022 surrounded by his family. Mike was a native of Brownsburg, IN, where he attended St. Malachy Catholic School for eight years before graduating Brownsburg High School in 1966. He served his country as a member of the United States Army Reserves from 1967-1973.
A doting dad and papaw, Mike's greatest joy was watching his children and grandchildren grow into adults, always providing positive encouragement and advice while bragging to friends and colleagues about their accomplishments. In addition to his love of family, his second love was riding and showing horses. Mike also valued his 31 years of sobriety and helped countless others on their recovery journey through AA.
Mike spent his lifelong career in sales, recently retiring from Central Indiana Supply Company (CISCO Seeds) in September 2021 after 40 years of dedicated service. His "old school" sales techniques were uncomplicated - never executed via email or texting. Instead, he opted for true relationship building through in-person sales calls that were finalized with a smile and a hand shake. This technique served him well, as he was CISCO's top salesperson for many consecutive years.
He was preceded in death by his parents John and Helen Wilson; sister Patricia Mitchell. Survivors include daughters Jennifer (Chris) Northern and Melissa (Mike) Clayton; grandchildren Madison Shae Hottell, Madison Rose Clayton, Samantha Ann Northern, and Michael Chase Clayton. He also leaves behind many friends, colleagues and customers who will miss his dry sense of humor and selfless acts of random kindness too numerous to mention.
Memorial visitation will be from 12 pm to 1 pm, Friday, June 10, at Matthews Mortuary, Brownsburg, with memorial service there at 1 pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Salvation Army, his favorite charity.
