John Patrick "Pat" Mullennax, 86, Indianapolis, passed away on April 6, 2017. He was born on Oct. 22, 1930 to Alfred and Sadie Mullennax in Dunlap, IA. He attended Sidney High School in Iowa. He received his BS and MS from Purdue University. He was an honorary member of Iota Lambda Sigma Fraternity. He served in the U.S. Army in both North and South Korea during the Chinese Intervention and accumulated five battle stars. He taught at Lebanon Senior High School and Arsenal Technical High School in Indianapolis, IN. He also taught apprentice classes in electricity at Tech Evening School for 20 years. After retiring from IPS, he worked for Avis Car Rental, Ryder Truck Leasing and Penske Truck Leasing. He was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church, Pittsboro Masonic Lodge # 620, Indiana Retired Teachers Association, and American Legion Post 34. He was introduced to flying in a Piper Cub in 1947 and was a member of the Experimental Aircraft Association Chapter 67. He was preceded in death by a brother. Survivors include his wife Dottie Mullennax; son Michael (Judy) Mullennax; grandchildren Samantha and Jacob Mullennax and sister Jean Silver. Visitation will be from 2-4 pm Sun. April 9 at Matthews Mortuary, Brownsburg, with funeral services there Mon. April. 10 at 10 am. Contributions may be made to Salvation Army or Riley Children's Hospital. Burial will be in West Ridge Park Cemetery.
