Joseph K. Neuman

72, Brownsburg, passed away peacefully on March 6, 2024.  He was a funeral director since 2003 at Matthews Mortuary, after graduating in 2003 from Mid-America College of Funeral Service and receiving a Degree of Associate of Applied Science Funeral Service.  Joe began his employment with Matthews Mortuary in 2002, while attending Mid-America College.  A resident of Brownsburg since 1980, he was a former EMT and volunteer fireman for Brownsburg Fire Department for several years.  Joe served for sixteen years in the Hendricks County Coroner's Office, eight years as a deputy coroner and eight years as the elected County Coroner.  He is a member of St. Malachy Catholic Church, Brownsburg.  Joe did auto body repair and owned his own body shop for many years prior to becoming a funeral director.  He enjoyed owning and restoring classic muscle cars.  Joe was preceded in death by his parents Norman and Doris Neuman; nephew Joel Neuman.  Survivors include his children Gabriel (Kristin) Neuman, Kelly Neuman, and Natalia Neuman; brother Peter Neuman; grandchildren Madison Neuman, Hannah Neuman; niece Samantha Neuman.  Visitation will be from 11 am to 1 pm Tues. March 12 at Matthews Mortuary, Brownsburg, with funeral services at 1 pm.
