Judith L. Morton
67, Brownsburg, formerly of Brook, passed away Mon. Nov. 7, at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. She was born June 29, 1944 in Rensselaer to the late John O. and Lura F. Russell Morton. Judith graduated from Brook High School, Class of 1962, and then graduated from Ball State University in Muncie in 1966. She later obtained her Masters Degree from Indiana University in Indianapolis. She was a retired elementary school teacher and taught in Lebanon, Indianapolis and Brownsburg. After retiring, she taught adult second language for four years. She was a member of the Wayne Township Retired Teachers Association and the Alpha Delta Kappa Professional Teachers Sorority. Judith enjoyed traveling, photography, art, painting, music and was an avid reader. Surviving are three sisters, Cherrie L. Morton and Lou Anne Morton, both of Brook, and Meryl J. Morton of Brownsburg. Visitation will be Friday, Nov. 11, at Matthews Mortuary, Brownsburg, from 5-7pm with a special service at 7pm. Additional visitation will be at the Gerts Funeral Home, Brook, IN, Sat. Nov. 12 from 10am to 12pm, with funeral services following at noon, with Rev. Andy Crowley and Rev. Ken Marsh officiating. Interment will follow at the Riverside Cemetery in Brook. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alpha Delta Kappa Sorority. Gerts Funeral Home of Brook is in charge of local arrangements.
