Katherine A. Danda

67, Brownsburg, passed away on June 20, 2023.  She was born and raised in Michigan City, IN.  On December 28, 1976, she married Richard R. Danda, but in 1981, Kathy began a lifelong battle with Scleroderma which caused multiple health issues through the rest of her life.  Her Catholic faith, especially her daily rosaries and devotional prayers, was the foundation of her hope.  She experienced multiple miraculous interventions from our Lord and our Lady over the years and had deep trust in God at all times.  She gave clear witness to Jesus' command:  "Take up your cross and follow me" (Mt 16:24).  This witness inspired the religious vocations of both her children.  Kathy was a member of St. Malachy Catholic Church and its Altar Society.  Katherine was preceded in death by her parents Henry and Julia Lisak; brother-in-law George Grattenthaler, III.  Survivors include her husband Richard Danda; son Fr. Sean Danda; daughter Sr. Solanus Casey Danda; brothers Michael (Jan) Lisak, James (Lisa) Lisak; sister Susan Grattenthaler; brother-in-law David Danda; sister-in-law Patricia Danda; six nieces and nephews; and four great nieces and nephews.  Visitation will be from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm Mon. June 26 at Matthews Mortuary, Brownsburg.  Funeral Mass will be at St. Malachy Catholic Church Mon. June 26 at 1 pm.  Burial will be in St. Malachy West Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to SOLT Sisters (1200 Lantana St, Corpus Christi, TX 78407).
