Kermit L. Abell
84, Pittsboro, passed away September 14, 2023.  A US Army veteran, Kermit worked for Allison Transmission as a superintendent of machine repair, retiring in 2000.  He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, American Legion and the Danville Assembly of God Church.  His parents Russell and Maxine Abell and brother Richard Abell preceded him in death.  Survivors include his wife Judith Ludlow Abell; daughters Deborah Murphy (Robert Henderson), Cheryl Abell, Staci Andrew (Tony) and Brandi Abell (Michael Wood); sisters Joyce Abell and Kaye Bauer; grandchildren Brandi, David, Dustin, Mike, Lee, Austin, Dylan, Tyler; 11 great grandchildren. Visitation will be from 12 noon to 2 pm Sunday September 17 at Matthews Mortuary with funeral services at 2pm.  Burial will follow at Brownsburg Cemetery.
