Obituary

Larry Mac Frauhiger, 84, passed away on October 16, 2026, one day shy of his 85th birthday.

He was born October 17, 1941, to Kenneth and Opal Frauhiger of Warsaw, Indiana. He worked at Bertsch Vending until his retirement and at that point, moved in with his youngest son, Doug. In 1994, Larry moved to Indianapolis to live with his oldest son, Todd and daughter-in-law, Sandy, and in 2024, he moved with them to Brownsburg, Indiana where he lived until his death.

Larry was a proud father to four children: Todd Frauhiger (Sandy), Ken Frauhiger (Lori), Doug Frauhiger (Billie - deceased), and Ginger Ade (Tom). He was a dedicated family man who was devoted to his children, six grandchildren: Natasha (Brandon) Mounce, Josh (Heather) Frauhiger, Nathan Ade, Grace Frauhiger, Melissa (John) Method, and Dawn Hyde, along with his five great grandchildren: Abigail and Annabelle Mounce, and Bricklee, Baker, and Blakelyn Frauhiger. His daughter, Ginger, recounts her dad checking in with her each night before bed to talk about her day. Larry was especially close to his sister, Diana Kay McDonald (Dan-deceased) and they enjoyed talking on the phone to catch up on their favorite soaps and hanging out in the pool on their many Florida trips.

Although Larry was typically a quiet and unassuming man, he was a huge and loud fan of his Chicago White Sox and Chicago Bears. Larry was thrilled when his White Sox won the World Series in 2005, and he and his son, Doug, were ecstatic to see the Bears win the Super Bowl in 1986.

As his children were growing up, he was very active in their athletic and academic endeavors. He coached Little League, softball, and attended all the various school related sporting events. When his son, Ken, became the head football coach at McCutcheon High School, Larry enjoyed attending Friday night games with Todd and his church friends.

During his time at Horizons of Faith United Methodist Church, Larry made numerous lifelong friends attending the weekly men’s coffee group and serving on the board of trustees.

Family and friends will share memories and special times after the first of the year in a Celebration of Life ceremony.
