Larry "Brent"
Lee
March 30, 1965 – March 29, 2023
Larry "Brent" Lee,
Brent was born in Danville, IN to Larry E. Lee and Eldora "Jean" (Philips) Lee on March 30, 1965 died March 29, 2023 after a 3 year battle with ALS. He was a Brownsburg High School graduate, class of 1983. He attended Indiana State University where he met Tina L. (Knop) Lee. Tina and Brent married August 27, 1988, at St. John's Episcopal Church Indianapolis, Indiana where they attended for several years with family. Together, they raised two children, Taylor Lee-Moore, and Calvin Brent Lee, whom he loved and cherished.
Brent eventually joined the Carpenter's Union and was hired by Rollin's Construction whom he worked for several years before Rollin's was sold. For the past 5 years of his employment Brent worked for Pepper Construction leading several construction jobs throughout the city. His last job, and most favorable project was working with Pepper Cincinnati on the Cincinnati Zoo upgrades of their penguin and kangaroo exhibits.
Brent had a passion for camping, boating and sports, especially racing. He enjoyed basically any activity where he spent time with friends and family. While the kids were growing up Brent and Tina spent many summers on Dale Hollow Lake with friends creating lasting memories. Brent and Tina also enjoyed traveling the country in their motorhome attending IndyCar races and college football games (Boiler Up!). However, Brent's favorite pastime was sitting on his back porch, cooking BBQ with those he loved most.
Brent was christened as a child at Calvary Methodist Church in Brownsburg Indiana where he later attended bible school and preschool. This past year Brent and Tina intentionally grew their relationship with Christ, and he was baptized with the help of Connection Pointe Christian Church.
Brent is survived by his wife Tina, daughter Taylor, son Calvin, parents Jean and Larry Lee, sister Shelly Rose (Lee) Hellmann, brother-in-law Fredrick Hellmann. He was also surrounded by loving nieces Hillary (Cleveland) Rogers and Vera Mires, and many adoring nephews Ryan Wingler, Madison Cleveland, Connor Hamblin, Max Hellmann and Elliott Qi.
Brent will be deeply missed by all who knew him. It is our hope that you fondly remember him with a soft chuckle or a full-on belly laugh!
A celebration ceremony of Brent's life will be held on April 22, 2023, at WyrkSpace from 11-12pm, formally USAC headquarters at 4910 West 16th Street, Speedway, Indiana. There will not be traditional calling hours prior to the service, but an open house visitation with family and friends after the ceremony from 12-3 pm at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Team Gleason or the Team #BStrong of the Indiana Chapter ALS Association for the Walk to Defeat ALS.
