Larry W. Walker

84, of Indianapolis, passed away peacefully on June 7th, 2026. Larry was born in Charleston, IL to his parents Dale and Kate McClellan on May 13th, 1942. He and his family, including his four younger siblings, moved to Indianapolis when Larry was 12 years old. During his time working at Chet’s Drive-In, Larry met the love of his life, Diana, with whom he shared a 54 year marriage. His most notable job, however, was his position as fireman and eventually Battalion Chief at the Washington Township Fire Department. Here, Larry enjoyed a nearly 22 year career before his deserved retirement. In his free time, Larry loved to root for the IU Hoosiers and spend time on the water with his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents; beloved wife Diana Walker; son Wayne Walker; brothers Dave McClellan and Vance McClellan. Larry is survived by his son Les (Heather) Walker; sisters Erma May and Bonnie Coomler; grandchildren Jacob (Abbie) Walker, Chloe (Gabriel) Dreibelbis, and Delaney Walker; great-granddaughter Lorraine Walker.

A celebration of Larry’s life is being planned for a later date.
