Laura Lee (Towner) Mavridoglou August 20, 1978 – July 19, 2024
Laura Lee (Towner) Mavridoglou, a beloved daughter, sister, mother, friend, and incredible artist, passed away unexpectedly at the age of 45 on July 19, 2024, in Cincinnati, Ohio. Born on August 20, 1978, in Duluth, Minnesota, Laura was the cherished daughter of William C. Towner, Nancy L. (Olson) McDonald, and her very special bonus dad, Steve McDonald.
Laura graduated from Brownsburg High School and earned her bachelor's degree from the Indiana University Herron School of Art. Her life was a tapestry woven with vibrant colors, music, and the love she so generously shared with others. Laura's passion for art was matched only by her love for music, particularly her devotion to Phish, Joni Mitchell, and Taylor Swift.
Laura dedicated herself to raising her precious children, Aristedes (Ari) and Nadia. She was a nurturing and loving mother who found immense joy in every moment spent with her family and friends.
Laura's warmth and kindness were felt by many. She was a tremendous friend, always ready with a smile and a kind word. Her friends from Brownsburg and those she met throughout her life in Cincinnati were touched by her kindness and compassion.
Laura is survived by her children Ari & Nadia, parents Nancy & Steve McDonald of Fishers, Indiana; her brothers, Chad Towner of Carmel, Indiana, and Rob (Emily) Towner of Avon, Indiana; and her two sisters, Satrina McDonald of Pittsboro, Indiana, and Nicki (McDonald) Wilde of North Port, Florida. Laura was a devoted aunt to her nieces and nephews, who adored her. She was preceded in death by her father, William C. Towner.
Laura's artistic spirit will live on through her beautiful paintings and the indelible mark she left on the hearts of those who knew her. Her family will hold a Celebration of Life at Matthews Mortuary, 690 E. 56th Street, Brownsburg, IN 46112, on Saturday, July 27, 2024. Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during visitation from 12:00 to 2:00 PM, followed by a service at 2:00 PM. A private reception will be held afterward.
In lieu of flowers, please consider contributions to the Ari & Nadia Support Fund at www.GoFundMe.com/support-ari-nadia-mavridoglou Laura's memory will forever be cherished, and her impact on the lives she touched will never be forgotten. Though we mourn her loss, we find solace in knowing her spirit lives on in the hearts of those who shared her journey.
