Obituary

Laura Buzan Miller passed peacefully to our Lord on Sunday morning, March 29th.  Although the Covid19 "shelter in place" order prevented family and friends from being at her bedside, they were with her in spirit and prayer. Laura was born to Eslie E. and L. Marie (Hawkins) Buzan on May 24, 1928 in Montgomery, Indiana.  Laura had a brother Thomas (Doris) Buzan, and three sisters, Gladys (Jay) Brown, Ruby (John) Dicks) and Elsie (Curtis) Elliott.  Laura attended Washington High School, in Washington, IN and she married Robert G. Miller on March 16, 1946.  They were married 58 years until Bob's passing in 2004. They lived and raised their two daughters, Dottie M. (Michael) Nixon and Jeanne (Steve) Howell, in Clermont, Indiana.  They were charter members of Clermont's Charity Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Roger Murphy. Laura worked at Western Electric (now Lucent Technologies) for 34 years before retiring.  She was a member of telephone industry's Pioneers Volunteers Network until her death and a member of the Eastern Star.  Laura remained in the family residence until 2017, when her health required a move to Wesley Manor in Frankfort, IN.  Laura had the heart of true follower always putting others before herself.

Laura was preceded in death by her husband Robert G. Miller, daughter Dottie M. Nixon, sister Gladys Brown, brother Thomas P. Buzan, brothers-in-law, John W. Dicks, Curtis Elliott, and Paul E. Miller. Laura is survived by her daughter Jeanne (Steve) Howell; Son-in-law Michael J. Nixon; grandchildren Tracy J. Harlett, Anthony (Tony) R. Hausman, Troy W. Hausman, and Jonathan M. Nixon; great grandchildren Brent Hausman, Axel Hausman, Trey Hausman, and Jocelyn Nixon; sisters Ruby M. Dicks, Elsie I. Elliott; brother in-law Carrol (Carolyn) Miller; sisters-in-law Doris Buzan, Shirley Overton, and Virginia Miller; and many beloved nieces and nephews.

There will be no public viewing due to the corona virus self-quarantine.  There will be a private viewing by the immediate family at Matthews Mortuary in Brownsburg, IN and entombment at West Ridge Park Cemetery immediately following.  The family requests that in lieu of flowers, please make a donation to a church, or charity of your choice, in her name. She would be blessed to have one last earthly honor to God.
