Lee Carter Mardis
62, Brownsburg, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family and friends, Friday November 17, 2017, in IU Health West Hospital, Avon, IN. He was born August 9, 1955 in Terre Haute, IN to Robert Carter Mardis and JoAnn Mardis. Survivors include his wife Sarah, Brownsburg; son Sean, Tampa, FL; two brothers Mike Mardis (Susan) and Scot Mardis (Gerrie) of Terre Haute; three nephews Matthew Mardis (Jessica), Andrew Mardis (Kristin), and Kyle Mardis (Kristy); niece Lauren Clampitt (Michael). Lee is also survived by his mother-in-law Shirley Eckert of Jasper, IN; sister-in-law Laurie Schwenk (Ed); brother-in-law Bryant J. Eckert (Mary Ann); nephews Phil, Sam and Jason. Mardis was a graduate of Terre Haute South Vigo High School and attended Indiana State University where he was a member of the Alpha Tau Omega Fraternity. He graduated from IUPUI with a Bachelor of Science degree majoring in Human Relations. Lee considered himself a lifelong learner and was a licensed pharmaceutical technician and a certified benefits consultant. He was a member of the Central Presbyterian Church in Terre Haute. Mardis was retired and had worked in banking, computer data processing, real estate sales, and health insurance claims. A celebration of life for Lee's family and friends will be held at the Rathskeller in Indianapolis, IN at 1pm December 30, 2017. If friends desire, the family asks that memorial contributions may be made to Second Helping, 1121 Southeastern Ave., Indianapolis, IN 46202, a charity he supported.
