A Fond Farewell to Dale Judy
On June 13, 2024, Leo Dale Judy, at the age of 77, peacefully concluded his earthly journey with his daughters by his side. Born on September 7, 1946, in Cumberland, Maryland, he lived a life marked by hard work and an innovative spirit.
Dale retired from General Motors and had several entrepreneurial ventures, which included ownership of Donnie's Place (bar) and of the Boat Club (restaurant), as well as a van customization business and a trucking company.
Dale was known for his willingness to lend an ear or dispense advice on any topic, making you wonder how the heck did he acquire that information. In recent years, he was known for his smile and a twinkle in his eye. He took pride in coaching his nephews' ball teams during their childhood years. His love of creating was demonstrated by his design and construction of three of his homes and his contribution to the building of the Pendleton Historical Museum which opened in 1981.
He is survived by his daughters, Lynn (Eric) Watts and Christina (Greg) Watson; his sisters, Barbara Morlock and Darlene Judy; his stepdaughters, Britt and Teal Lamborne; and a legacy of grandchildren and great-grandchildren who brought him immense happiness.
Dale was predeceased by his wife, Stacie Lamborne-Judy, and his parents, Leo Judy and Norma Jean Danner Judy. Dale's memory will be cherished and honored by all who knew him.
Dale graduated from Pendleton Heights High School in 1964 and attended Ball State University later in life.
He was always eager to hear updates and to see photos of his family's lives. His favorite pastime was visiting the casino. On Thursday evenings his first question would always be "Did you get the lotto tickets?" To pass time he also read many books and recently had HGTV on 24/7. We know the first items on his to do list were to hug his family, light that next cigarette and to walk outside to see the sunshine. His presence will be missed. Services will be private.
