Loretta Jean Daugherty of Clayton, Indiana, entered heaven's glory on September 2, 2021. She was born on April 13, 1942, in Indianapolis, Indiana to Marjorie and Russell Burdge. Loretta married John Daugherty on August 20, 1960. Together they built a happy home and a wonderful life. Loretta loved planning family events, having Sunday dinners, and going overboard on holidays. She was a wonderful cook often using recipes from generations past. Keeping family traditions was so important to her. Loretta enjoyed taking pictures and making photo albums of her kids and grandkids. She truly made her home a haven for her loved ones. Loretta loved the Lord and was a long-time member of Faith Baptist Church of Avon where she was a Sunday School and Bible School teacher. She was also a soloist and member of the choir. Loretta was a loving wife to John and an amazing mother to Ricky Daugherty, Rhonda Bradley, Rachelle Brewer and son-in-law Dean Brewer. Loretta was an adoring mamaw to her seven grandchildren: Ricky, Jacob and Joshua Daugherty, Jonathan and Benjamin Bradley, John Allan and Gloria Brewer; great grandchildren, Kenley and Jacob Daugherty. She is also survived by her sister Julie Clark and brothers, Jim Burdge and Jeffrey Burdge. Auntie/Aunt Retta had several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be at Faith Baptist Church, 3860 East Main Street, Danville, Indiana, from 10:00-12:00 on Saturday, September 11, 2021, with the service at noon. Burial will follow at the Clayton Cemetery.
