Luella May Starbuck Age 100, Avon, passed away peacefully on Jan. 19, 2013. Born on Nov. 4, 1912 in Greenup, IL to Edwin Clyde Dunn and Blanche Burnett Dunn, Luella was the second of their three children, including Emyl and Josephine. On Feb. 2, 1935 she married William Robert (Bob) Starbuck in Mattoon, IL with whom she enjoyed marriage for 47 years until Bob's passing on April 16, 1982. They moved to Brownsburg, IN in 1950, where they raised two children, James Robert Starbuck and Linda Jane Starbuck Glass. The couple owned Starbuck Dry Cleaners on East Main Street in Brownsburg during the 1950's and were prominent residents of town until her retirement to Florida. Mrs. Starbuck played the organ for Brownsburg Christian Church from 1960-1990. Family and friends celebrated her 100th birthday on Oct. 27th. She was known for her beautiful smile, caring heart, wonderful organ playing and her infectious laugh. Luella is survived by her loving children, James R. (Marti) Starbuck of Estero, FL and Linda J. (Brad) Glass of Indianapolis, IN. She has five grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, and six great-great-grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held Tues., Jan. 22 at 2pm at Matthews Mortuary, Brownsburg, with visitation from noon to 2pm. Burial will follow at the Brownsburg Cemetery.
