Obituary

Dr. Mandy Lyn Harris, pediatric neurologist, 1975-2017. Mandy passed peacefully with her family at her side due to complications of Type 1 diabetes. It is not often that the world is blessed with such a beautiful soul. Mandy was a kind, generous and compassionate doctor. Her devotion to her patients was unmatched. Mandy also devoted much of her time to helping and educating others who suffered from Type 1 Diabetes. This will not be your average obituary; Mandy was not your average woman. She would not want us to list all of her degrees and all of her accomplishments. She was incredibly humble and selfless. She never wanted to be recognized for her work, she simply wanted to help others. Even in her passing she is helping, saving and educating others. The world has suffered an immeasurable loss. Mandy always did things her own way, she would not want us to mourn or dwell on her passing. She would want us to celebrate the good times we shared. She would want us to continue her mission of searching for a cure for Type 1 Diabetes. She would want us to raise a glass up to the good times. So, for Mandy, this is what we will do. God bless you, Mandy Lyn, we are all blessed for having known you. Thank you for blessing this world with two beautiful children. Thank you for being a loving wife and for sharing Scott with our family. Thank you for being a loving daughter whom made your parents incredibly proud. Thank you for being a loving sister, the Fab Four will never be the same. Thank you from all of your patients and T1D family for your devotion to them. Thank you for making the world a better place. Your memory will love on. Until we meet again. We love you. Scott, loving husband of 15 years; Vivianne, daughter, 13; Zander, son, 12; Ed and Sharon, incredibly proud parents; Deb, Karrie and Kim, the Fab Four, your loving sisters and the brother; Visitation will be from 4-7pm Wed.
