Obituary

Marcia Lynn Gibboney, 67, Brownsburg, returned to her heavenly home January 8, 2017. Growing up in Avon, Indiana, she was known as Marcia Lynn Hiner, but that all changed at age 18 on a blind date with Rick Gibboney. They wed on October 27, 1968 and began their life together. She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Ruby Hiner, and her sister, Marilyn Brooks. She is survived by her husband Rick; brother Jim (Jodi) Hiner; sister Shirlee Kelly; daughters Dawn (Ernie) Hickman, Colleen (Jon) Cross, and Jaclyn (Jeremy) Nohren; grandchildren Ryan (Laura) Hickman, Tiffany (Matt) Ruble, Abby Crary, Kayla and Jacey Cross, Wyatt and Josalynn Nohren; great grandchildren, Aspen, Matthew and Kynley; as well as many nieces and nephews. Marcia was an active member of Kappa Delta Phi, she was a rabid IU fan, as well as a devoted fan of Elvis Presley, but her family loved her anyway. She was a loving wife, loyal friend, dear Mother, and doting grandmother. Her loving light always shone brightly, and she will be sorely missed by all who knew her. Visitation will be from 4-6pm Wed. Jan. 11 at Matthews Mortuary, Brownsburg, with funeral services there at 6pm. Private burial will be held later.
