Margaret Rae (Finley) Mockbee
Brownsburg, IN, age 88, went home to The Lord on November 17th, while vacationing with family in Gatlinburg, TN. She was born February 12, 1925 to Ralph and Maude Finley in Indianapolis, In. Margaret graduated from St. Agnes Catholic School, number 1 in her class, an honor she always relished. She married the late Wendell James Mockbee in 1946 and resided in Brownsburg, Indiana where they raised two daughters, Wendy (Paul) Zienin of Indianapolis and Kathy (Mike) Pierce of Granger, Indiana. Margaret was a long term employee of Public Service Indiana where she was an executive secretary until her retirement in 1982. Retirement brought her and Wendell a time of relaxation and sun as they moved to Fort Myers, Florida for a number of years before returning to their beloved Brownsburg. Maggie loved spending time with her family, traveling, reading, painting, embroidery, attending bible study group and attending attractions and shows in Gatlinburg, Tennessee. Maggie's greatest attribute was her love and concern for others. She was a constant caregiver and always found time to lend a listening ear and give encouragement to those in need. She was a member of the Connection Pointe Church in Brownsburg for many years. Maggie was blessed with six wonderful grandchildren: Stacy (Allen) Becvar of Columbia, Missouri; Amy Bouvy of Chicago; Chad Zienin of Indianapolis; Jennifer Zienin of Fall's Church, Virginia; Michael Pierce and Michelle Pierce of Granger, Indiana. Great grandchildren include Steven, Austin, and Ethan Becvar, Micah Pierce, and several nieces and nephews. Mother and Grandmother "GG" will be greatly missed, however now she rests in the arms of Jesus. Visitation will be from 3-7pm Thurs. Nov. 21 at Matthews Mortuary, Brownsburg, with funeral services there at 10am Fri. Nov. 22.
