Marie Grace Lengel Sparks It was at age 88 that Marie departed from this world to be with her Lord on April 21, 2014. She was the younger of two children with Frances in Frank and Georgia Lengel family. Marie attended the Flackville and Ben Davis schools. She and Paul Sparks were married on Nov. 17, 1945 and she remained a faithful and devoted wife for 68 years. During these many years, she was to bless Paul with three children: Paula, Jeffrey, and Dwain. They were in turn to bless Marie and Paul with seven grandchildren: Leslie, Andrew, Emily, Adam, Rachel, Erin and Trevor. They were further blessed with great grandchildren: Makenzie, Ella, Jackson, Sloane, Colton, Asher, and Adella. Marie was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother to her family. Marie also had a son before her marriage, Francis (Topper) Lengel PhD, who served his country as a US Air Force Captain. He also served his country as a Central Intelligence Agency Officer, dying tragically during his tour of duty in Argentina. It was at Paul's retirement in 1975 from Allison that he and Marie relocated at the Grandview Lake Community nearby to Brown County State Park. They lived there for 17 years and designed and built four homes as a husband and wife team. These wonderful years were to become some of the most productive and enjoyable years of their married life. Marie and Paul then returned to their roots, relocating in Brownsburg, where they were to enjoy a worry-free style of life in a condominium. During their 68 years of marriage, Marie and Paul remained faithful to their Christian Faith by attending Christian Churches located in the various areas where they lived. At the time of Marie's death, they were active members of Cornerstone Christian Church. Visitation will be from 4-7pm Tues. April 22 at Matthews Mortuary , Brownsburg, with funeral services there 10am Wed. April 23. Burial will be in Brownsburg Cemetery.
