Marilyn E. Herris, age 78, of Brownsburg, Indiana, passed away Saturday, November 13, 2021. She was a resident at Sunrise on Old Meridian in Carmel, IN since January, 2020 while receiving care for Alzheimer's disease.

Marilyn was born in Canton, Ohio, December 16, 1942 to the late Marion and Elva Krabill of Louisville, Ohio. Marilyn is survived by her husband Larry; Two brothers and sisters-in-law, Donald and Joan Krabill of Louisville, OH, Elvin and Connie Krabill of Tiskilwa, IL; Two sons and daughters-in-law, Mark Herris and Christy Herris of Carmel, IN; Keith and Melissa Herris of McKenzie, TN; five grandchildren, Ryan, Sam, Noelle, Natalie and Nevaeh Herris.

Marilyn attended Louisville, OH public schools and graduated from Malone College in 1964. She was an Ohio elementary teacher in Louisville, Cleveland, Garfield Hts, Osnaburg Twp, North Canton, Plain Twp, and Canton City Schools.

Marilyn enjoyed her family, traveling, snow birding in Sarasota, FL, making cards and tending to plants around her house. She was a member of Beech Mennonite Church in Louisville, OH and was active as a principal organist and pianist for the choir and congregation. She accompanied the Stark County Mennonite Choir, played for weddings and funerals and accompanied numerous solos & ensembles.

Marilyn and her husband moved from Canton, OH to Brownsburg, IN in 2013 to reside closer to family members. While in Brownsburg she attended Calvary United Methodist Church where she was active in the choir and played piano in many Saturday pm services.

Stier-Israel Funeral Home in Louisville, OH will handle funeral services that will be held at 12noon on Monday November 22, 2021at Beech Mennonite Church in Louisville, OH. Calling hours will be 11am – 12noon Monday morning at the church. Marilyn will be laid to rest in the Beech Mennonite Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Assoc. at www.alz.org
