Marion E. Parker
88, Pittsboro, passed away December 8, 2020. A life-long resident of Pittsboro, Marion was a member of the Pittsboro Christian Church and the Brownsburg American Legion. He was a senior field representative for Insurance Services Office, retiring in 1994. He was the last surviving charter member of the Pittsboro-Middle Twp. Volunteer Fire Dept. and served on the Dept. from 1951-1980, serving several years as the Assistant Chief. He was a Korean War veteran, serving in the US Army from 1953-55. He was preceded in death by his wife Rosa Parker, son Robert Parker, his parents Edgar and Carole Parker, and brother Marvin Parker. Survivors include his daughter Barbara Ann Parker. Private services will be held and he will be laid to rest next to his wife, Rosa, in the Lizton K of P Cemetery. A public celebration of Marion's life will be held at a later date at the Pittsboro Christian Church. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Pittsboro Christian Church, 216 N.
