Marjorie E. Carder, 90, Indianapolis, passed away Oct 14, 2016. Born on August 4th, 1926, in Hoopeston, IL, to the late William and Minnie M. (Tull) Alkire. She lived with her husband for 60 years in Lafayette, Indiana and also Plainfield, Indiana. She was preceded in death by her husband Jasper "Jack" Carder in 2008. Survivors include; daughter Christine Groce (Gary), Indianapolis, Indiana; son Steven Carder (Kathy), Pittsboro, Indiana; eight grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren. She is survived by sister, Ruth Ann Alkire of West Lafayette; and sister-in-law, Sally Alkire of Lafayette.
Grandchildren include; Jennifer Dant, Angie Fetzner-Roell (Shellie), Lynnette Hunter (Tim), Emily Dant, Emily Brescher (Kade), Lana Sorgi (Jim), Adrienne Harlow, and Lauren Clason (Aaron). Great Grandchildren include; Amaya Bennett, Jimmy Sorgi, Addison Hunter, Jackson Sorgi, Taylor Brescher, Brooklyn Hunter, Jonathan Fetzner-Roell, Raegan Brescher, Jace Sorgi, Leah Clason, Jordon Fetzner-Roell, Alexis Fetzner-Roell, and Lincoln Brescher.
She was also preceded death in brothers, Francis Loy, Donald Alkire and James Alkire; and sisters, Mary Josephine Alkire, Mary Elizabeth Butler, Carmen McCreery and Jane Alkire; brother-in-laws, Roy McCreery, Claude Butler, and; sister-in-law, Donna Alkire.
Visitation will be Friday, October, 21, 2016, 11:00AM to 1:00PM, at Matthews Mortuary in Brownsburg, Indiana. Marjorie's nephew, Father Tim Alkire, will officiate. Funeral Services will be held immediately following at 1 PM, with interment to take place at West Ridge Park Cemetery, in Indianapolis.
