Marjorie G. Stephens
89, Brownsburg, passed away Dec. 29, 2015. She had been an elementary school principal for Brownsburg Schools for 26 years, retiring in 1987. She attended Bucknell University and Purdue University and received her Bachelor's degree from Butler University and her Master's degree from Indiana University. Former memberships included Alpha Chi Omega Sorority and Phi Delta Epsilon and Phi Delta Kappa honoraries, and Indiana Principals Leadership Academy. She was a current member of Brownsburg Homemakers, Red Hat Society, Order of Eastern Star, Delta Kappa Gamma and Avon United Methodist Church. She was a recipient of Purdue University Distinguished Student Award and a Sagamore of the Wabash. She is survived by her children Marjorie E. Jackson and William G. Stephens; sisters Elizabeth Abbott and Connie Rosenow; 2 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Visitation will be from 10am to 12 noon Sat. Jan. 2, 2016 at Matthews Mortuary, Brownsburg, with funeral services there at 12 noon. Burial will be in Brownsburg Cemetery. Contributions may be made to the Brownsburg Public Library.
