Marlene E. Reed
68, Avon, passed away December 11, 2021. Marlene had been a baker for the Speedway High School then worked for Paul E. Smith Plumbing. Her final career was a secretary for the Indiana National Guard Joint Operations, retiring in January 2020. She was a member of St. Christopher's Catholic Church in Speedway. She was preceded in death by brothers Joe Eaton and Danny Eaton. Survivors include her husband Gene Reed; children Chris Reed and Michelle Chasteen (husband Ben); brothers Mike Eaton (wife Jo Ellen) and Johnny Eaton (wife Karen); sisters Kathy Phillips (husband John) and Patty Schnarr (husband Jerry); sister-in-law Ruthie Eaton; grandchildren Brayden Reed, Wesley Chasteen and Katherine Chasteen. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Visitation will be from 4-7pm Monday December 20 at Matthews Mortuary, Brownsburg. Funeral mass will be Tuesday December 21 at 11am at St. Christopher's Catholic Church, Speedway. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to American Lung Association at www.lung.org
